Dr Fiona MacKay is Director of the Graduate School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh; she teaches, researches and has written widely on women and politics and gender and political institutions. She is interested in how institutions of governance - global, regional and local - work in gendered ways and how they can be redesigned to include women and promote gender equality. Fiona is a long time member of the Scottish feminist organisation Engender, the Scottish partner in the Women Into Public Life project.
