Description:
The Centre for Cross Border Studies (CCBS) invites you to participate in the 5th meeting of the North/South Research Forum, to be held at the Europa Hotel, Belfast on Thursday 15 December, from 9.30am to 1.00pm. The theme for the event is An Agenda for Cross-Border Cooperation in Health Care in Times of Austerity.
Speakers will be:
Mr Dean Sullivan, Director of Commissioning, Health and Social Care Board
Mr Sean Brown, Head of Development and Corporate Services of the Patient Client Council
The North South Research Forum will also see the launch of a report that is the outcome of a major CCBS research project, Exploring the Potential of Cross-Border Hospital Planning on the Island: A Prototype Modelling Framework, that has been funded through the EU INTERREG IVA Programme. This report has been completed on behalf of the Centre by Mr Shane McQuillan and Ms Vanya Sargent of Dublin-based consultants Horwath Bastow Charleton (HBC). The authors will present the key findings and recommendations of their research.
Following the presentations by the speakers there will be opportunities for discussion and informal networking. A light lunch will be provided at 1pm.
The North/South Research Forum, which meets twice a year, offers an opportunity for academics and other professional researchers, public officials, funders, policy makers and other interested parties to meet in a semi-formal setting to discuss research, policy and practice of particular relevance to the border region and/or the promotion of cross border co-operation.
