The deadline for the first call for projects to the INTERREG IVB Atlantic Area Programme has been extended. The call which was due to close on 12 May has now been extended until 27 June 2008.

The Atlantic Area programme aims to achieve significant and tangible progress in transnational cooperation geared towards cohesive, sustainable and balanced territorial development of the Atlantic Area and its maritime heritage.

The INTERREG IVB North West Europe programme has launched a new website: www.nweurope.eu

As well as programme information for developing new projects, the website has an events calendar, FAQs, guidance notes and useful links.

The aim of the North West Europe programme is to make the North West Europe area more competitive, environment friendly and cohesive by improving access to more and better jobs, enhancing the environmental qualities of the region, improving accessibility through intelligent transport solutions and ensuring that our cities and rural areas are attractive and sustainable.

The third call for projects for the Northern Periphery Programme will be opening on 26th June 2008 and will be open until 26th September 2008. The Northern Periphery Programme aims to help peripheral and remote communities on the northern margins of Europe to develop their economic, social and environmental potential.

The INTERREG IVC Monitoring Committee has confirmed that a second call for projects will be opened in Autumn 2008. The call will be opened during the first day of the 2nd EU Inter-regional Co-operation Forum, on 27 October 2008. The call will remain open until Friday 30 January 2009.
