North West Europe Programme

 

The aim of the North West Europe Programme (NWE) is to make the NWE region more competitive, environmentally - friendly and cohesive. It will this by  improving access to more and better jobs, enhancing the environmental qualities of the region, improving accessibility through intelligent transport solutions and ensuring that our cities and rural areas are attractive and sustainable.

The programme will co-finance projects that maximize the diversity of NWE’s territorial assets by tackling common challenges through transnational cooperation. To this end, the Programme seeks organisations that are resolute in their ambition to contribute to a cohesive and sustainable territorial development of North West Europe under the following priorities:

Priority One: Developing the NWE knowledge-based economy by capitalising on our capacity for innovation

Priority Two: Sustainable management of natural resources and of natural areas and technological risks

2.2 Risk management and prevention

2.3 Improving quality of soil, water & air

Priority Three: Improving connectivity in NWE by promoting intelligent and sustainable transport and ICT solutions

3.1 Manage transport growth through capacity optimisation

3.2 Multimodal interoperability on land, water & air

3.3 Information & Communication Technology

Priority Four: Promoting strong and prosperous communities at transnational level

4.1 Economic and social performance

4.2 Environmental quality and attraction

4.3 Demographic change and migration

Eligible Regions

The whole country of the UK, Ireland whole country, Luxembourg whole country, Belgium whole country, Switzerland whole country, Parts of Germany, France, Netherlands.

Minimum number of countries needed to form a partnership

Two partners from at least two different countries with at least one of them from the NWE area.

ERDF available

The total amount of ERDF available is €355 million

Grant Rate

The grant rate is 50%

Who can apply?

Regions, cities, universities and public-private partnerships.

Working Language

The working language of this programme is English.
