A second public consultation exercise with stakeholders across the eligible regions including Northern Ireland, the Border Region of Ireland and Western Scotland (for INTERREG VA only) took place from Tuesday 3 June 2014 until Tuesday 29 July 2014. A consultation information document was created to help with this process. It was also made available in Irish.
A summary of the 2014 consultation responses was created upon its completion. The views obtained during the consultation were used in the drafting of the proposed Cooperation Programmes for both PEACE IV and INTERREG VA. The Cooperation Programmes were presented to the Northern Ireland Executive, the Irish Government and the Scottish Government (for INTERREG VA only) for approval before being submitted by 22 September 2014 to the European Commission for negotiation and final approval.
A number of assessments were also carried out to ensure that the PEACE and INTERREG draft Cooperation Programmes met statutory and regulatory requirements. These included:
