  • Promote social inclusion, particularly for those at the margins of economic and social life.

The value of the programme, over seven years, is €1.1 billon

Level of funding available

For PEACEPLUS the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)(link is external) contribution, which is 80% of the total value of the Programmes, has been matched by the UK(link is external) and Irish governments(link is external).

This means that applicants can apply for 100% of their project value.

Themes and Investment Areas

It is a wide-ranging Programme with six themes and 22 investment areas. All investment areas have a sharp focus on the peace impacts and legacy they will leave.

A project must choose a theme and investment area in which to deliver. The project must clearly outline how it fits the specific criteria for their chosen theme.

  • All projects must have a cross-community and cross-border collaboration element, and they must be able to demonstrate peace impacts. This is key to the PEACEPLUS Programme.
  • Collaboration is key
  • For PEACEPLUS EU Commission rules allow for participation with partners outside the area of Northern Ireland and the Six Borders Counties of Ireland.

Partners outside the region

If you are considering partners from outside the region, what matters is that the benefits of the project are significant for the Programme area.
