SEUPB - Steering Committees

What do the Steering Committees do?

The Monitoring Committees for PEACE III and INTERREG IVA have delegated responsibility for project selection to the Steering Committees.  Like the Monitoring Committee their membership comprises of representatives of local and regional government, as well as social and economic partners representing business, trade unions, and the voluntary, environmental and equality sectors.  The committee fulfils a number of key responsibilities:

  • make decisions on project applications;
  • ensure that the operations are selected for funding in accordance with the agreed criteria drawn from the Operational Programme.

The Steering Committee meets on an ad-hoc basis throughout the year.  Meetings are held in all parts of the area eligible to receive funding (i.e. Northern Ireland, the six Border Counties of Ireland and, in the case of INTERREG IVA, Western Scotland).
