The PEACEPLUS programme has been developed through extensive research, review and public engagement. A Stakeholder Engagement exercise which took place in 2019/2020, the SEUPB held a range of public events including; specific events with young people. This was followed by survey submissions and a PEACEPLUS public consultation in 2021. There has also been on-going engagement and meeting with governments north and south.
The content of the PEACEPLUS Programme was designed following a comprehensive cross-border stakeholder engagement process, in early 2020 that included 16 different consultation events, with over 1,000 people in attendance. Over 300 survey responses were submitted. A full report of the survey’s findings can be found below.
A public consultation for the PEACEPLUS Programme started on Wednesday 10 March 2021 and closed on Wednesday 12 May 2021. To help the SEUPB gather the public's views an online survey was created. Report for this online survey is available to read in the link below.
The purpose of the public consultation was to provide citizens, and other key stakeholders, with an opportunity to share their views on the content and administrative arrangements of the PEACEPLUS Programme, findings from the Equality Screening exercise and the Strategic Environmental Assessment.
The PEACEPLUS Consultation Information Document gives full details of the draft content of the new programme.
During the consultation phase of PEACE PLUS the SEUPB also created a range of sectoral-based PEACEPLUS Consultation Navigation Papers which relate to different aspects of the programme:
