Transnational programmes such as the Atlantic Area, Northern Periphery & Arctic and North West Europe Programmes bring together regions from different EU and neighbouring countries with a similar geography, culture and challenges.

  • INTERREG VB and VC Overview

    Funding under the European Territorial Co-operation (ETC) INTERREG V Programme is divided into three different strands.
  • INTERREG VB Transnational - 2014-2020

    There are 15 Programme zones for transnational co-operation, three of which are relevant to Northern Ireland and the Border Region of Ireland - the Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme, the North-West Europe Programme and the Atlantic Area Programme.
  • Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme (NPA) 2014-2020

    This €56million ERDF programme aims to help peripheral and remote communities in the northern regions of Europe to develop their economic, social and environmental potential.
  • North-West Europe (NWE) Programme 2014-2020

    This €370 million ERDF programme aim is to help make this new region more competitive, environmentally friendly and cohesive by improving access to more and better jobs, enhancing the environmental qualities of the region, improving accessibility and ensuring that cities and rural areas are attractive and sustainable.
  • Atlantic Area Programme 2014-2020

    The €140million ERDF programme aims to achieve progress on transnational cooperation that is geared towards cohesive, sustainable and balanced territorial development of the Atlantic Area and its maritime heritage.
  • INTERREG Europe Programme

    The €359 million ERDF INTERREG VC Inter-regional Programme is aimed at local and regional authorities.
